Event Spotlight: Feed My Starving Children Gala
Every year, the Feed My Starving Children MobilePack hosts a Gala to raise funds and awareness for the charity. The organization works to rescue and distribute lifesaving food and resources to those in need throughout the local area and around the world. As a company with a servant’s heart, this is an event that Randy Peters is always excited to be involved in.
Feed My Starving Children MobilePack’s most recent event in August 2023 hosted up to 170 people for a formal sit-down dinner – and raised over 25,000 dollars through tickets and auctioning. This amount acts as the equivalent of 100,000 meals for those in need. Randy Peters Catering has been a key player in this event for the last eight years, and part of the reason why the event has been so successful each year.
Playing a Crucial Role in Set-Up
Even though food and drink is usually the first thing to your mind when you think of catering services, Randy Peters catering stands out for their additional logistical services. For this event, they provided all of the food and drink, as well as the set-up services, tableware, and linens. In other words, all the clients had to do was show up to the event, where they would find the event and dinner fully set up, staffed, and facilitated by the Randy Peters team.
For the client, this level of logistical and set up assistance was an incredible boon, and allowed the organization leads to focus their full attention on the other fundraising aspects of the event itself.
Seamless Service from Start to Finish
Throughout the entire process, head management from Randy Peters Catering was consistently available and attentive to clients. Whether it was early in the planning process or during the event itself, both Randy and Lisa from Randy Peters Catering were adding their planning, logistical, culinary, and creative services to add to every experience.
Additionally, the entire Randy Peters staff shone in their logistical prowess, especially within service. All food delivery and course serving throughout the night was the service impeccably timed, and all staff were clearly trained to avoid mistakes and assist in the progression and ambience of the event.
Adapting to a New Venue
After hosting this event in the Randy Peters Catering venue for years, the clients found the need to find an even larger venue to host their increasing guest list for their most recent event. To accommodate their clients’ evolving needs, the Randy Peters Catering team adapted their services to host the larger venue and crowd size.
Randy Peters facilitated this venue change without missing a beat due to their expertise and experience in logistical planning. Adding more people to the fundraiser? No problem at all. For such a great cause, the Randy Peters team was more than happy to adapt to the changing circumstances. And, because of the Randy Peters team’s attention to detail, the quality of service remained top notch in the larger venue.
A Plated Dinner for Everyone
Randy Peters Catering provided a formal sit-down dinner service for this event, as well as a full bar service for all attending guests. As guests arrived at the event, they could visit the bar to grab a glass of wine or cocktail before they found their tables already served with pre-set salads and bread baskets. With a drink in hand, they were welcome to sit down as the meal started and converse with the rest of their table.
As the night progressed, guests chose their entrees from a variety of options – all of which were delivered to each individual in sync with the rest of their table, and at the optimal serving temperature. To close out the event, Randy Peters offered a variety of delicious dessert options for everyone attending.
As with every event, the Randy Peters Catering team worked to customize the menu based on their client’s preferences. To do this, they worked with the event management committee from the Feed My Starving Children MobilePack to plan a menu that would perfectly suit the event. The Randy Peters team also brought in their chefs to host a private tasting for the entire planning committee to make sure all the food would be prepared as requested.
